About Hellenic polytheism

Hellenic polytheism, also commonly known under the terms Hellenic paganism, Greek neo-paganism, Dodekatheism or Hellenismos, is the worship of the Ancient Greek gods. It is a reconstruction of the ancient principles but adapted to our modern needs, moralities and sensibilities. As such, its aim lies in continuity with the Ancient past rather than in blind imitation, all while recognizing the historical flexibility and diversity of the religion.

About the website

This website is meant to be an archive and extension of my Tumblr blog where I have been casually blogging and writing about my practice since 2014. I plan on keeping both active until Tumblr stops being a reliable platform.

About me

My interest in Hellenic polytheism started in 2014. I was then at the beginning of my second year of University as a history major, which gave me the advantage of having access to resources about Greek and Roman religion, which I obsessively read (and still do).

While I worship the whole Pantheon, the first god I worshipped was Dionysus and he still is my main deity. My practice is more reconstructionist than revivalist, but with particular attention given to sources of the 1st century AD. My local focus is on the island of Thasos and I no longer follow the Attic calendar as of November 2021.

I have lived in three different countries so far and am currently based in Finland.
